The Science Behind Hyperbaric Therapy
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is the medical use of oxygen in a pressurized environment, at a level higher than 1 atmosphere absolute (ATA). Increased pressure allows for oxygen to dissolve and saturate the blood plasma (independent of hemoglobin/red blood cells), which yields a broad variety of positive physiological, biochemical and cellular effects.
History of Hyperbaric Therapy
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment that can be traced back to the 1600’s. In 1662, the first renowned chamber was built and operated by a British clergyman named Henshaw. It is because of this success that celebrities and athletes have been using HBOT to heal, repair and stay younger at a genetic level. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has only recently become available to the general public and the future of HBOT will certainly have patients using hyperbaric medicine to protect their health.
I started hyperbaric treatment after Covid. I was feeling tired, congested and what maybe termed brain fog. After four treatments I feel improved. I think the treatments give me an overall feeling of well being. The staff is professional and friendly.
This was my first experience in a hyperbaric chamber. I was a little nervous. The staff is very friendly and were thorough, in explaining the procedures and me feel comfortable. I enjoyed the feeling in the chamber. I was able to relax. I even did some yoga and stretching. It was a great feeling overall and will definitely be back!
I really like this place. They have so many chambers that I dont have to wait. The other place I went to was closer, but I had to wait for them to fill the chamber with other people instead of being able to go on my own schedule. They ale offered a cheaper rate if purchasing more treatments.
My naturopath doctor told me to try hyperbaric and I found this clinic and age others. I visited each place and this place stands out as bring more professional and much larger. I didn't like that other places only had 1 chamber or had group chambers. Here I was given more options, met with a doctor and a hyperbaric consultant. I just feel this place is better. I will update as I go through more treatments.
