Oxygen Under Pressure seems to calm most of our patients and gives them the stillness required to heal naturally. Our chambers are 42 inches in diameter, with more than enough space to sit upright or lie down comfortably. While many patients choose to read during treatment, often once a patient is comfortable at pressure they tend to sleep soundly!
What to Expect for Your First HBOT Dive?

Safety First
Our Physician led team of Certified Hyperbaric Technologists are here for your safety. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a safe and effective treatment, but only when provided by qualified professionals. While some centers may allow for electronics in chambers, our staff follows the National Fire Protection Agency laws to a T. Your safety is too important for our team to deviate from national safety guidelines.
FDA Approved
Treatment at RX-O2 is provided in FDA approved Hyperbaric chambers manufactured right here in Arizona. All chambers have been rigorously tested by the American Society of Mechanical Enigineers and the committee on Pressurized Vessels for Human Ocupancy, the same group that certifies submarines!
Comfortable
Our team is here to guide you through the process of getting into a chamber, having a safe dive and comfortable treatment and ultimately here to help you on your healing journey. Be sure to wear loose fitting cotton clothing. Blankets and pillows always provided for your comfort.
What Does It Feel Like?
Getting To Pressure
Once the door is closed on our Hyperbaric Chambers, you will notice the pressure building. Often this is first noitcied in the ears, similar to flying on an airplane. You may also notice the chamber getting a little warmer. When pressurizing the chamber the temperature increases due to Boyle's Gas Law. We promise were not turning on the heat!
What Pressure will you need? Ask our Hyperbaric Clinicians during your consultation.
Under Pressure
Pressurizing often takes less then 10 minutes. At pressure you may notice no change in how you feel. Some patients feel like the pressure makes their body feel heavier while in the chamber. You will spend the majority of your treatment at this pressure and will feel very compfortable if even a little sleepy.
Do you work well under pressure? Time to give HBOT a try and find out for yourself.
Atmospheric Pressure
Returning to surface pressure starts after your allotted treatment time, either 60 or 90 minutes. This phase takes from 6-20 minutes depending on the pressure used and the chamber. This phase often gets a little chilly due to venting the chamber and lowering the pressure. Getting out of the chamber is where we all usually feel better; this is due to the Hyperoxic - Hypoxic phenomenon.

What Should I Bring?
Yourself
When treating in a Hyperbaric Chamber, you should need nothing, but the will to heal. The chamber does all of the work for you and you can just sit back or lie down and relax while the Oxygen Under Pressure stimulates your body to increase growth factors, mobilize stem cells and increases your mitochondrial function!
A Book
Electronics are not allowed in Hyperbaric Chambers due to the increased risk of fire. This is not just our policy, but it's the law. We have a full library in clinic if you would like to read one of our books. Of course you may bring your own literature with you. Some patients even prefer to draw or write while their brain is being supersaturated with Oxygen.
Nothing Else
In general we do not want yout getting into the Hyperbaric Chambers with anything you were not born with. We promote the use of 100% cotton clothing, no petroleum products, makeup or hearing aids. All of these items are frowned upon by the National Fire Protection Agency. So, come as you are and we will take great care of you!
