RX-O2 Hyperbaric Clinic is the culmination of over 50 years of hyperbaric experience, from a surgeon who used HBOT to help heal wounds to a Certified Hyperbaric Technologist with over 20 years of experience in Hyperbaric medicine. At our locations we have over 20 years of treating patients in our prescription level hyperbaric chambers. The owners of Serenity A Breath for Life joined medical director Dr. Marvin Borsand to expand access to Hyperbaric medicine in the valley. Now with the ability to provide more than 65 treatments a day, RX-O2 has become one of the country's largest Hyperbaric clinics.

Our Team

Marvin A Borsand, DO
FACOS, FACCS

Medical Director

An Osteopathic Physician with over thirty years of patient care experience, Dr. Borsand completed his internship with the United States Public Health Service followed by a General Surgery residency. He has practiced across a wide range of clinical and administrative settings, developing a comprehensive understanding of patient care that extends beyond isolated symptoms. Dr. Borsand’s underlying philosophy has always been to treat the whole person, integrating therapies that support healing at both the systemic and cellular level. In alignment with this approach, he has incorporated Hyperbaric Medicine into his practice since 2008, utilizing it for recovery from cosmetic procedures, enhancement of stem cell transplantation, and the treatment of complex wound care.

In parallel with his work in hyperbaric medicine, Dr. Borsand has been deeply involved in the advancement of regenerative medicine, with early clinical exposure to stem cell therapy through the work of Dr. Marvin Borsand. Through this involvement, he became engaged in the emerging field of autologous stem cell therapies and participated in research conducted under Institutional Review Board (IRB) oversight. As a member of Cell Surgical Network, Dr. Borsand contributed to IRB-approved stem cell research focused on safety, outcomes, and clinical application. His experience at the intersection of hyperbaric medicine and regenerative therapies has informed his clinical approach, particularly in optimizing tissue healing, stem cell engraftment, and post-procedural recovery through evidence-based and ethically conducted protocols.

He is currently the Medical Director of RX-O2 Under Pressure Hyperbaric Clinic. In this role, Dr. Borsand has been instrumental in developing and refining clinic policies and procedures to ensure patient safety, regulatory compliance, and effective clinical outcomes.

Alexander Borsand, MD
ABLM,

Clinic Safety Director

Alexander Lightstone Borsand is a nationally recognized educator and safety leader in hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), with a background that bridges allopathic medical education, lifestyle medicine, and advanced hyperbaric training. He completed his medical education at Aureus University School of Medicine and pursued additional training at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine to expand his understanding of non-pharmacologic and lifestyle-based approaches to health optimization. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine, where he focused on evidence-based lifestyle interventions for metabolic and chronic disease. He does not hold a license to practice medicine and does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.

Alexander was first introduced to hyperbaric medicine prior to medical school while working as a surgical technologist. His professional trajectory shifted following a significant injury that required multiple surgeries and resulted in a non-healing fracture. After completing more than 60 hyperbaric treatments with marked improvement in healing and complete resolution of pain, he became deeply involved in hyperbaric medicine from an education, operations, and safety perspective.

He currently serves as Clinic Safety Director and Head of Business Development at RX-O2 Hyperbaric Clinics and is a certified trainer for the National Hyperbaric Safety Association (NHSA). Alexander is not a licensed medical doctor, and his work is focused on education, safety oversight, and operational leadership. He is an active member of the International Hyperbaric Association and is dedicated to advancing hyperbaric oxygen therapy through rigorous safety standards, hands-on training, and responsible clinical implementation that supports licensed providers and compliant clinical environments.

Trained Hyperbaric Technicians

Our hyperbaric treatments are delivered by a dedicated team of highly trained Hyperbaric Technicians whose primary focus is patient safety and treatment effectiveness. Each technician completes a comprehensive 40-hour Introduction to Hyperbaric Medicine course through the National Hyperbaric Safety Association (NHSA), providing a strong foundation in hyperbaric physiology, safety standards, and chamber operations.

Beyond formal coursework, our technicians are required to complete hundreds of hours of supervised, hands-on clinical training within our facilities before participating in patient care. This rigorous training process ensures familiarity with real-world clinical scenarios, emergency procedures, and patient support inside the chamber. The result is a calm, experienced team committed to delivering safe, attentive, and effective hyperbaric oxygen therapy at every visit.

Many members of our team were once patients themselves who experienced meaningful improvements through hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Their personal journeys with HBOT provide a unique perspective that goes beyond technical training, allowing them to genuinely understand what patients may be feeling before, during, and after treatment.

Because of these experiences, our former patients have chosen to dedicate themselves to the field of hyperbaric medicine, combining firsthand understanding with extensive clinical training. This blend of personal insight and professional expertise fosters a compassionate, attentive environment where patients feel supported, informed, and confident throughout their course of care.
