This is a source-check date, not an independent physician-review attestation. ## Clinical context HBOT for recovery after anoxic or hypoxic brain injury is an emerging, off-label adjunct. Small clinical reports describe encouraging cognitive, consciousness-scale, or functional changes, with important uncertainty from nonrandomized designs and combined treatment. A cardiac-arrest series reported significant global and executive-function changes; its full-text memory and attention results did not meet the usual statistical threshold despite the abstract wording. A single drowning case cannot establish a general treatment effect. Newborn studies, animal experiments, and a 2025 preprint are labeled separately on the page. These findings do not establish reversal of permanent brain injury or reliable restoration of consciousness. No universal session count or treatment window is established. Continue neurological, cardiac, and rehabilitation care. Outpatient consultation follows medical stabilization. Patients needing ventilation or intensive support require a hospital team to determine the appropriate setting.
